Claude skill

Let Claude run FilmSpark for you

FilmSpark Operator is a skill for Claude. Give it a script and it sets up your project, runs Production Planning, builds your actors and locations, and lays out the storyboard. It stops to show you every batch of images and videos, and asks before it spends credits. Setup takes about 10 minutes.

Keep the download zipped. You upload the .zip itself to Claude.

What you need

The Claude desktop app

Mac or Windows, from claude.ai/download. Run FilmSpark tasks from the desktop app (Chat or Cowork), not from claude.ai in a browser tab.

A paid Claude plan

Claude in Chrome needs Pro, Max, Ultra, Team or Enterprise. On Team and Enterprise, an admin may need to turn on skills and Claude in Chrome for your organization.

Google Chrome + Claude in Chrome

The free Claude in Chrome extension, signed in with the same Claude account as your desktop app. Claude works inside a Chrome tab, so Safari and other browsers won't work.

A FilmSpark account with credits

Signed in at app.filmspark.ai in that same Chrome. Every image and video Claude generates uses your FilmSpark credits.

Install

  1. Download the skill and keep it zipped

Save filmspark-operator.zip. You upload the .zip file itself, not the folder inside it.

Mac tip: Safari can unzip downloads on its own. If you end up with a folder, right-click it and choose Compress to make the .zip again.

  2. Turn on code execution

In the Claude desktop app, open Settings → Capabilities and switch on Code execution and file creation (called Create and edit files in newer versions). Skills don't work until this is on.

  3. Upload the skill

Open Customize → Skills, click +, then Create skill → Upload a skill, and pick the .zip. Check that filmspark-operator appears in the list and is switched on.

  4. Install Claude in Chrome and sign in to FilmSpark

In Chrome, find Claude on the Chrome Web Store, add it, sign in with your Claude account and pin it to the toolbar. Then sign in at app.filmspark.ai in the same Chrome. Claude never types your password.

  5. Connect Chrome to the desktop app

In the Claude desktop app's settings, turn on the Claude in Chrome connector. That's what lets a chat in the desktop app work in your Chrome tab.

  6. Start a new chat

Skills load when a chat or task starts, so open a fresh one after installing.

Check your FilmSpark workspace. Before you start, make sure FilmSpark in Chrome is in the workspace you want: your personal workspace or a team one.

Try it

"Create a new FilmSpark project from the attached script. Use a 3D style, set up the first three scenes, and ask me questions along the way."

Drag your script into the Claude chat before you send. Mention FilmSpark by name so Claude picks up the skill.

Say no to screen control

If Claude asks to control your screen, mouse or other apps, decline. This skill only ever works inside a Chrome tab. A request to control your whole computer (or to open Finder, File Explorer or another app) means Claude can't reach the Chrome extension. Decline, check that Claude in Chrome is installed and signed in with the same account, then start a new chat.

Good to know

Allow FilmSpark the first time

Claude in Chrome asks before it acts on a new site. When it asks about app.filmspark.ai, allow it.

Leave Claude's tab alone

Claude works in one Chrome tab. Keep it open and don't click around in it while Claude works. You can use the rest of your computer as normal.

You approve every batch

Images arrive as a numbered sheet. Reply "approve all", "re-roll 2 and 5: warmer light" or "stop". Claude waits for your answer before it continues.

Credits are always quoted

Claude asks before any step over 50 credits and before any video, starts at draft quality, and tells you the credits spent at the end.

Uploading your script

Attach the script in the Claude chat. If Chrome won't accept the file, Claude asks you to drop it into FilmSpark's upload box yourself, which takes one drag.

Your existing work is safe

Claude won't change your existing shots or assets unless you ask. It makes a new project or duplicates a shot first, and it never deletes anything unless you ask.

Change the defaults by asking

Tell Claude in the chat, like "only ask me above 100 credits" or "don't wait for me, I'll review later." To make it permanent, edit preferences.md in the zip and upload it again.

Don't interrupt a run

Keep the desktop app open; videos take minutes each. Don't switch FilmSpark to a different workspace in another window or tab while Claude runs. If a run stops, ask Claude to pick up where it left off.

If something's off

Claude doesn't seem to use the skill

Start a new chat, check filmspark-operator is switched on under Customize → Skills, and say "FilmSpark" in your request.

The upload is rejected

Upload the .zip, not the folder. If you re-zipped it, compress the filmspark-operator folder itself so it sits at the top of the zip.

Claude says Chrome isn't connected

Open Chrome, click the Claude icon in the toolbar and check you're signed in with the same account as the desktop app. Check the Claude in Chrome connector is on in the desktop app's settings. Then start a new chat.

Claude stops at a login page

Sign in at app.filmspark.ai in Chrome yourself, then tell Claude to carry on.

Installing an update

Delete the old filmspark-operator under Customize → Skills, upload the new .zip, then start a new chat.

Using Claude Code instead?

Unzip into ~/.claude/skills/ so you have ~/.claude/skills/filmspark-operator/SKILL.md.

Menu names in Claude can change between versions.
