Connect your agent
Run FilmSpark from your AI agent
Connect FilmSpark to Claude, Grok, Codex or Cursor and your agent can read your projects, set up scenes and shots, write prompts, and generate images and videos for you. Before it changes anything, it shows you what it will do and what it costs in credits, and waits for your OK. Setup takes about two minutes, with nothing to download.
Opens FilmSpark. Sign in first if it asks.
What you need
A FilmSpark account
With credits. Every image and video your agent generates uses your FilmSpark credits, just like in the app.
An AI app with connectors
Claude (web, desktop app, Cowork or Claude Code), Grok, Codex or Cursor. Claude's free plan allows one custom connector.
Connect
-
Open "Connect your agent" in FilmSpark
Sign in at app.filmspark.ai, click your initials in the top right corner, then choose Connect your agent (MCP).
A connected agent can work in all your FilmSpark workspaces, personal and team, so tell it which project you mean.
-
Pick your agent and follow its steps
Every agent uses the same FilmSpark address:
https://app.filmspark.ai/mcpClaude: web, desktop app and Cowork
- In Claude, open Customize → Connectors and click Add custom connector.
- Name it FilmSpark, paste this URL and click Add.
https://app.filmspark.ai/mcp
- Click Connect and log in to FilmSpark.
- Start a new chat. FilmSpark should be on under + → Connectors.
Claude Code
Run this in a terminal. Then type
/mcpin Claude Code, choose filmspark, then Authenticate and log in to FilmSpark. Start a new session to use it.claude mcp add --transport http --scope user filmspark https://app.filmspark.ai/mcp
Claude Team or Enterprise? Your organization's Owner (or Primary Owner) adds FilmSpark once under Organization settings → Connectors (Add → Custom). Then you click Connect under Customize → Connectors.
Grok chat
- Open grok.com/connectors, click New Connector and choose Custom.
- Paste this URL:
https://app.filmspark.ai/mcp
- Log in to FilmSpark when Grok asks.
- Start a new chat to use it.
Grok Build
Run this in a terminal. Grok Build opens your browser so you can log in the first time it uses FilmSpark.
grok mcp add --transport http filmspark https://app.filmspark.ai/mcp
Grok Bot
Send it this message, click Add it, then Authorize and log in to FilmSpark.
Add a custom MCP server called filmspark at https://app.filmspark.ai/mcp
Grok Business or Enterprise? Your team admin may need to add FilmSpark first.
Codex
The Codex app (in the ChatGPT desktop app), the Codex CLI and the IDE extension share one setup, so add FilmSpark once in any of them.
- In the Codex app, open Settings → MCP servers and click Add server. Name it filmspark, choose Streamable HTTP and paste this URL:
https://app.filmspark.ai/mcp
- Save, click Restart, then Authenticate and log in to FilmSpark.
- Start a new chat to use it.
Or use the terminal
Instead of steps 1 and 2 (don't do both). Codex opens your browser to log in. If it doesn't, or to log in again later, run
codex mcp login filmspark.codex mcp add filmspark --url https://app.filmspark.ai/mcp
ChatGPT on the web doesn't use this setup.
Cursor
- Click Add to Cursor and confirm in Cursor. Or add this to
~/.cursor/mcp.json:
{ "mcpServers": { "filmspark": { "url": "https://app.filmspark.ai/mcp" } } }- Log in to FilmSpark from Cursor's MCP settings.
- Start a new chat to use it.
Other agents
- In your agent's MCP or connector settings, add a remote server (Streamable HTTP) with this URL:
https://app.filmspark.ai/mcp
- Log in to FilmSpark when it asks.
- Start a new chat to use it.
-
Start a new chat and check
Agents pick up new connectors in a new chat. Ask "What FilmSpark workspaces do I have?" If it lists them, you're connected. Your agent also appears under Connected agents on FilmSpark's Connect page.
Installed the old skill?
Remove it first
The FilmSpark Operator skill is replaced by this connection. If you installed it, remove it so the two don't get mixed up:
- Claude app: Settings → Capabilities → Skills. Delete filmspark-operator.
- Claude Code: delete the folder
~/.claude/skills/filmspark-operator. - Claude in Chrome is no longer needed for FilmSpark. Keep it if you use it for other things.
- Then start a new chat. Old chats keep the old setup.
Try it
"In my FilmSpark project The Lighthouse, add storyboard panels to scene 3 in the same style as scene 2. Don't make any video yet."
Use your own project's name. Your agent reads the project, tells you what it will make and the credit cost, and waits for your yes.
Good to know
It asks before it spends
Every change starts with a free check of what will happen and the credit cost. Reply "yes", change the plan, or say "stop".
Changes are real
Once you say yes, changes land in your project straight away. To keep your originals, ask it to duplicate the shot or work in a new scene.
You review the results
Ask your agent to show you each batch of images or videos before it moves on, like "show me the panels before you do anything else."
Videos take a few minutes
Generations run in FilmSpark, so they finish even if you close the chat. Open the project in FilmSpark to see them.
A few jobs stay in the app
Things like starting a new project from a script or checking your credit balance. Your agent will tell you what to click.
Disconnect any time
Remove FilmSpark from your agent's connector settings. Nothing in your projects changes.
If something's off
FilmSpark doesn't show up, or has no tools
Restart the app, then start a new chat. In Claude, check FilmSpark is on under + → Connectors.
The login failed, or it asks you to log in again
Reconnect FilmSpark in your app's connector or MCP settings and log in again.
There's no Add custom connector button in Claude
You're on a Claude Team or Enterprise plan. Ask your organization's Owner (or Primary Owner) to add FilmSpark.
Grok won't let you add a custom connector
On Grok Business or Enterprise, ask your team admin to add FilmSpark.
It can't find your project
Give the exact project name, and say which workspace it's in.
Menu names in Claude, Grok and other apps can change between versions. The latest steps are always on FilmSpark's Connect your agent page.
